Considered a must-see on a gay tour of Berlin, Tom’s Bar is dark, leathery, and legendary. Open daily from 10 P.M. to 6 A.M., Monday nights feature two-for-one drinks, and there's a cover charge for special occasions only. There’s free video upstairs and a very active dark room downstairs. Guys tend to be young here, and some are gay-for-pay, but that’s to be expected when people flock here in droves. It’s a good place to start a bar crawl, primarily because of its long history on the Berlin gay scene. There’s also a leather-y Tom’s gay hotel down the street, which is interesting but doesn’t get as high marks as the bar.
