The Gageiro is a typical old-fashioned Portuguese sailboat that departs from Portimão and cruises westward along the long golden sands of Praia da Rocha, the red cliffs of Praia do Vau, the broad expanse of Alvor Bay, and the bizarre rock formations of Ponta da Piedade. On the first evening, you anchor in the historic seaport of Lagos, where you enjoy a barbecue dinner ashore and explore the town.
