The Aloe Vera Plantation (Nathan Borchelt)

The Curacao Aloe Vera plantation grows more than 100,000 plants for the production of the plant's concentrated gel, which is used island-wide by locals as a daily health supplement. Though the majority of the aloe vera produced here is exported, the plantation and shop sells a variety of products, including natural skin-care treatments, concentrated aloe that's typically taken a tablespoon at time, and a soft drink made from the plant. The plantation itself offers tours and in-depth info on why the locals revere the plant. Eric's ATV Tours often makes a stop at the plantation mid-tour.
