The Sanitas Valley Trail leads visitors north one mile from the trailhead thorough the valley between Mount Sanitas and Dakota Ridge. The trail is graded, packed sand and accessible to strollers, although Dakota Ridge and Mount Sanitas trails are not. The elevation gain for this trail is approximately 200 feet and it may be combined with above mentioned trails to form a loop back to the trailhead.

According to one local resident, "lots of people go out there [Mount Sanitas] with their dogs." If your looking for solitude look elsewhere. This is a very popular hiking spot for Bouldering.

Directions: From Broadway, Traveling north passed the University turn left on to Mapleton Avenue. The trailhead lies approximately seven blocks west of Broadway.

Elevation: 5,560 feet

Ending Elevation: 6,000 feet

Usage: Heavy
