The Red Rocks Loop trail extends one mile around a large sandstone formation. It lies between Mapleton Avenue and Canyon Boulevard in west central Boulder.

The Red Rocks Trail forms a one mile loop between Mapleton Avenue and Canyon Boulevard that encircles a large sandstone formation. This is a relatively flat trail with little elevation gain. It is open to hiking only and can be accessed from either road mentioned above. Picnic facilities are available at the northern trailhead.

Directions: From Broadway, Red Rocks Trailhead: Traveling north passed the University turn left on to Mapleton Avenue. The trailhead lies approximately eight blocks west of Broadway on the left side of the road.

Ending Elevation: 5,560 feet

Usage: Heavy
