Although there is not much of a "gay beach" in Phuket, there is an area of the beach where gays tend to congregate and there is usually a late afternoon (around 4&endash;6 PM) all men's volleyball game on the beach. It is located about 200 yards in front of the Paradise Complex off Thaveewong Road, between Sainamyen Road and Bangla Road, ironically right next to the Police Station. It’s a social, colorful place full of beach umbrellas, local boys trying to get to know you, lady-boy crossdressers, some straights, and vendors offering everything from drinks to massages. It’s located on a placid cove dotted with colorful sails and beach umbrellas.
