This trail is often combined with several other trails within the Camden Hills State Park enabling a full day of mountain hiking through dense mixed forest types which open to panoramic views of the surrounding lake and countryside. This trail is a favorite destination during the fall leaf season. Hikers should be aware that the trail is steep, rocky and has claimed a life.
A nice loop trail is from Maiden Cliff Trail (heading north) to Scenic Trail (traveling south) and linking west onto Ridge Trail which carries you back to Maiden Cliff Trail. From this intersection, retrace your steps south to the parking lot.
Directions: From Camden, ME, Travel from US 1 to SR 52 and proceed 2.9 miles to a raised parking lot on the right. Trail begins from there. Look for a boulder marking the trail.
