One of Barcelona's longest-standing and most popular clubs, Metro is a pioneer in the city's gay scene. It has two rooms, one that plays contemporary hits, while the other spins slightly more old-school pop classics. Rooms are filled with dimly lit bars—the space appears very '80s techno with its cold blue light that can be viewed as either sexy or very unflattering, depending on the time of night and how many drinks you've consumed. Lines get very long, especially on Saturday nights, and crowds tend to be young. Lesbians are welcome, too. As in all Spanish nightclubs, the evening starts late and lasts through the wee hours of the morning. Monday is cabaret night.
