Sweden's largest art repository may not quite rival Europe's mega-museums, but art queens will appreciate the impressive collections of Swedish, Dutch, and French works, notably including those by Van Gogh, Cézanne, Gaugin, not to mention an entire wall of Rembrandts. It's also, like most of Stockholm, exceedingly gay friendly, as it proved when the city hosted its second EuroPride in 2008 by launching an exhibit called "Queer: Desire, Power, and Identity." Showcased were some of the most overtly gay works from within the Nationalmuseum's massive collection, including portraits of two of the country's most famed homo royals, Queen Christina and King Gustav III.
