It's one of the sights of the city that you can't leave without seeing, and you should pay for a ticket and go inside, not just view from the imposing exterior. Many of the most fascinating aspects of the building can only be seen from inside, such as the fact that it was once flooded with water and used as a naval battleground. It harks back to its homoerotic past with beefy fake gladiatori who stand outside in skirts and whistle to cute guys –"Hey Julius!"–while posing for photos. Like most Roman men, they are gorgeous and know it. What's not to like?
