The Neusiok Trail offers a variety of recreational experiences for hikers, hunters, bird-watchers, botanists, and nature lovers. From the parking area follow the white blazes 300 yards to the beach on Neuse River. If the tide is low, the hike is easier on the hard sand; otherwise, follow blazes through dense beach grass and cypress for 1.2 miles. Turn left, climb the steps, enter the pine forest, and reach NC 306 at 6.5 miles. On the old logging road, head south to NC 101 at 9.3 miles.

From the JCT of US 70 and NC 101 in Havelock, turn left on NC 101 and go 5.3 miles to JCT of NC 101 and NC 306. Turn left on NC 306, Cherry Branch Road, and go 3.3 miles to FSR 132. Turn left on unpaved road and go 1.7 miles to Pinecliff Recreation Area.
