Just up the street from Farme, the gay beach in Ipanema, you'll find this delicious little Italian restaurant. Mio offers consistently good food, a cozy atmosphere, and a huge (and expensive) wine list. While the food is good, this place is all about location, location, location. Because Amoedo is the road that most gay men and lesbians take to the beach, there is a constant stream of bikini-clad hotties making their way. Mio's tables are set next to floor-to-ceiling windows, so diners have the feeling that they are enjoying living, moving art and entertainment right outside. And when it gets late and everyone has left the beach, shirtless capoeira dancers perform mind-boggling feats for tips from passersby, right in front of the restaurant. You can get dinner and a "show" here for $30. Not bad.
