This is Cancun's unofficial gay beach, on the southern end of the Hotel Zone, just south of the Hilton. Unlike most of the Hotel Zone, there are no hotels in front of this public beach. A small parking area along Boulevard Kukulkan leads to a lookout platform and a grassy slope down to a beach, where gays tend to congregate. It is more mixed the closer you get to the surf. The beach is particularly popular around lunchtime or in the evening. It is not uncommon for gay people to meet each other here and make a date for later in the evening.
