Begun in 1561 and completed in 1598, this beautiful cathedral is one of the oldest colonial structures in Mexico. The cathedral's left wing houses a famous wooden statue called El Cristo de las Ampollas (The Christ of the Blisters), because it is said to have survived a fierce fire with only blister-like welts.
