A sacred Hindu site complete with three holy temples, this is a good place for children to learn about Balinese Hinduism. The forest surrounding the temples is also considered sacred. Budding botanists might be able to identify some of the 115 different species of trees that grow in Padantegal. One tree worth seeking out is the pule bandak—revered for its power, its wood is used for sculpting magnificent masks that can be worn only inside the temple.
