Visibility up to 250 feet ensures a clear path for divers to spot the eel, barracuda, and sharks that frequent Palancar Reef. Schools of tropical fish swim through a network of tunnels and caves that surrounds the reef.

There's so much to see in the reef's 3.5-mile span, divers return to the site year after year. Depths vary, and novices often stick to the more shallow ends. Horseshoe reef, named for the enormous curved coral that forms 80 feet underwater, is a favorite of expert divers and underwater photographers.
