While Wolf and Darwin islands are the most revered dive sites in the Galapagos, there's plenty of action to be found right around the central islands. Gordon Rocks is a top-notch dive site within an hour-long boat ride from Puerto Ayora. The dives happen along a sunken volcano in an area that can experience strong currents and ocean conditions requiring intermediate diving skills. Expect to see dozens of king angelfish and hammerhead shark here. Spotted eagle rays and sea turtles also hug the deep walls.
