  • Admission to the grounds and the villa, the former home of Italian poet Gabriele d'Annunzio, are separate. If you have very young children, wander around the lovely grounds.
  • The villa is accessible only through a 25-minute guided tour that, as of this writing, is provided only in Italian. Even if you don't understand the guide, it's worth seeing the lavish decor that has been described as bizarre as well as the poet's many mementos.
  • A museum houses an airplane in which d'Annunzio made a flight in 1918.
