BeachExpert Tips & Helpful Hints
  • Carnaval is known for its dancers, partly for their incredible costumes and partly for the grace and rhythm that seem to "float" the performers down stage.
  • Festivities kick off the second Tuesday before Ash Wednesday.
  • Crowds get super rowdy, especially when the booze starts flowing.
Held at the world's largest stadium, Carnaval Veracruz attracts millions of visitors from across the world every year. Since 1923, the nine-day festival has been dedicated to the weird and wonderful in a celebration that can only be described as Mardi Gras, Vegas, and New Year's Eve all rolled into one outrageous party.
