Attraction: Carnaval

Veracruz's biggest festival and one of the largest Carnaval celebrations outside of Brazil. Held for the nine days leading up to Ash Wednesday (usually late February or early March), the fete draws tens of thousands of people, and features exuberant music, dance, and parades.

Held at the world's largest stadium, Carnaval Veracruz attracts millions of visitors from across the world every year. Since 1923, the nine-day festival has been dedicated to the weird and wonderful in a celebration that can only be described as Mardi Gras, Vegas, and New Year's Eve all rolled into one outrageous party.
