BeachExpert Tips & Helpful Hints
  • Ten miles north of La Paz, Playa Pichilingue draws swimmers, sunbathers, and fishing enthusiasts.
  • Pichilingue's rich history began during a Spanish invasion. At the time, the beach was prized for its oysters, which protected beautiful black pearls. When disease spread among the mollusks in 1940, the oysters sadly became extinct.
  • This is one of few beaches in the area with public restrooms—a plus for campers. A handful of good restaurants line the waterfront.
