The gay bar with the best view in town, the Loft Lounge has a plate glass exterior overlooking the majestic Table Mountain. The entrance hall, with its dusted lilac tint and blue crystal chandelier, sets the scene for the plush décor–think '80s decadence. Up the first flight of stairs is the retro-chic first floor designed around a geometrical black, white, and red wall hanging. The crowd is tony, well-heeled, nicely dressed, and more likely to be drinking champagne cocktails than vodka tonics. Stylish straights like it too.
