• See all of Switzerland from one place--in miniature. The open-air museum with its winding pathways and thousands of flowers and trees has more than 120 models of famous castles, cathedrals, and other notable Swiss buildings. They're all built on a scale of 1:25.
• Buildings include many you might see touring the country--Chillon Castle, St.Peter's Cathedral in Geneva, House of Federal Parliament in Bern, the Town Hall of Schwyz, ICRC Headquarters in Geneva, and Terminal B of the Zurich Airport among them. In movement throughout are the trains, funiculars, cable cars, and boats of a miniature Swiss transportation system.
• The museum is open daily March to October, and the economical family ticket is for two parents plus children ages six to 15. Melide is a seven-minute train ride from Lugano, and the museum is just 200 meters from the Melide station so no car is necessary if you're staying in Lugano.
