• Photographs don't convey how awe-inspiring, and what a feat of engineering, this wonder of the ancient world is. It's the highest (nearly 200 feet) and one of the best preserved aqueduts in the world. It's also a huge tourist draw, so go early in the morning or late in the day to avoid the crush of people and tour busses.
• You can walk across the bottom tier, and you absolutely should not miss Le Grand Expo, the site's interactive museum, which is excellent and has a children's section. (There's no charge for Pont du Gard but there is for the museum.)
• If you have a chance, see this UNESCO World Heritage Site at night when it's all lit up.
