Famed gay poet Arthur Rimbaud fled his family in France with his lover, the older poet Paul Verlaine, for an illicit weekend in Brussels in the summer of 1873. The two fought famously here (see the flick about it, Total Eclipse, with a young and naked Leo DiCaprio) and Verlaine shot his young lover here, creating a legend that would ultimately be immortalized in a song by Bob Dylan ("You Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go"). Leave a flower near the plaque which says, "It is necessary to be absolutely modern, Here stood the mansion where Paul Verlaine wounded Arthur Rimbaud with a shot from a revolver." Then go for a beer with your own young lover.
