Matongé is one of the coolest neighborhoods in Brussels, near the district of Ixelles. Over a hundred years ago, King Leopold ruled over the Congo with an iron fist. In the 1960s, Congolese students who were brought up in the regime he created came back to the city for an education. The result was a quarter in the center of the city where you can immerse yourself in the rhythms, tastes, and colors of the Congo, without leaving Europe.
