- There are many ways to explore Old Town. If you have older kids and want to walk it on your own, pick up a self-guided auditour (map and a portable recorder) from the Geneva Tourism office at Rue du Mont-Blanc 18. The tour takes in 25 points of interest and lasts about two and a half hours. If you have younger children and don't want to walk, take the train tour instead.
- The cobbled streets of Old Town cover more than 2,000 years of history. Place du Bourge-de-Four has been a marketplace since Medieval times and a center of commerce since Roman times.
- One of the most famous buildings is the Hotel de Ville. Check out the Alabama Room where 16 countries signed the Geneva Convention in 1864, the agreement laying out the humanitarian rules of war. The building itself will intrigue kids because instead of steps going to the upper floors, it has a winding ramp.
