Reputedly the oldest gay bar in Europe, Barfusser began as a leather bar after WWII, but you'd never know it by its modern revamp from a `70s-style finished basement to 21st-century techno lounge and sushi restaurant, with huge windows, orange sofas, mood lighting, and DJ. It's always packed with a trendy and fairly young, beautiful crowd made up of a gay/straight mixture (some queer locals lament at how straight it has become), but it's a great way to launch an evening of gay hopping around the city's amazing old town, where lots of other gay bars reside.
