FamilyExpert Tips & Helpful Hints
  • If you're trying to counter the delicious French pastries you've been enjoying, walk up to the top of the Arc; if not, there's an elevator. Up top is a grand view of the Champs Elysees.
  • Do take a look at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with its flame, and check out the small museum explaining the history of the Arc and how it was constructed.
  • You've heard tales of crazy Parisian drivers? You'll see them in action here, speeding and honking like crazy so take extra care crossing streets near the Arc and hold the hands of young children as you walk near the street. Yes, French drivers have been known to go up on a sidewalk to get around other cars.
