The Beach Bar at the Malolo Island Fiji Resort fronts a deep sand beach and the swimming lagoon beyond here is deep enough for swimming and snorkeling during most tides. Open morning till evening, the bar is housed in a traditional thatched-roof building with a lagoon-side deck and a lunchtime dining area under a sprawling shade tree. But the best time to show up is for one of Fiji's spectacular sunsets, with its ritual flare-lighting ceremony to the resounding beats of the Lali drum —get there early, since it's a popular time. The Beach Bar also serves casual beachside dining for lunch and dinner including an all-day snack menu with kids' choices and evening cocktail hour with reduced price drinks to the sounds of the Malolo Serenaders.
