• Younger kids will enjoy this animal-filled break from the cultural wonders and hot hubbub of downtown Athens. Better yet, the zoo is an accredited member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria.
• Make a day trip of it by stopping for lunch or dinner at a seafood taverna in the pleasant seaside town of Loutsa, where there's a nice beach (swimming not recommended, though).
