Sinuous canyon walls, a great diversity of plants, abundant bird life, and a sparkling stream make this one of the prettiest trails around. It's an easy 6 miles roundtrip with hardly any elevation gain. You can visit year-round. The trail ends 3 miles in, but the scenery doesn't! To go farther you'll need to do some wadingmaybe even swimmingand clambering over rocks and fallen trees.
If you are up to a big adventure and can arrange a car shuttle, it's possible to enter at the upper end and walk all the way down the entire 14-mile length of the canyon. Avoid this trip after heavy rains or if storms threaten. Also, check hiking conditions first with the Red Rock Ranger District office.
