Quartzville Scenic Byway is an 89 mile loop that takes about 4-5 hours. This loop features historical markers, a wild variety of alternate trips and forest vistas of Mount Jefferson and Mount Hood. Good forest roads and paved highways also help to make this loop enjoyable.

Directions: From Salem, This scenic byway begins on Hwy. #20 just off of I-5 and goes through Lebanon and Sweet Home, by the Green Dam Project to Quartzville, then to Detroit Reservoir.For variety this trip may originate in Eugene and an alternate trip take through Macola from the Brownsville exit on I-5 (Clear lake Loop) or from (Salem Santiam Rivers Loop.)
