• If you don't mind crowds, you'll love watching shows at the Gorge while the sun slowly sinks over the desert beyond the Columbia River Gorge.
• Spectacular basalt pillars near the Gorge are popular with climbers and provide an alternative camping location a short drive from the amphitheater. Get a parking permit ahead of time (at WalMart in Ephrata). Take Exit 143 from I-90 and travel north on Silica Road about 3/4 mile to Vantage Road. Turn left here and drive about a mile to the climbing area. Camping is allowed on the south side.
