Turneffe's trademark dive is also one of the best wall dives in Belize. This section of reef juts out from the southernmost tip of the Turneffe Atoll, just minutes from Turneffe Island Resort. A confluence of opposing ocean currents bathes the 3,000-foot drop in nutrient-rich water, supporting a cavalcade of marine life. Soft corals drape the vertical ledge interspersed by barrel sponges and patrolled by large predatory fish like jacks, snapper and permit. Reef sharks and hammerheads sometimes show up here as well. This dive is best suited for intermediate to advanced divers due to its depth and strong currents.
