  • This is an all-ages event, provided the young ones can stay up for its three-hour duration. Arrive at 7:30 p.m. for a good seat at the Outdoor Theatre, dress warmly, and be sure to bring juice and snacks.
  • Public Wolf Howls are free with a camping or day-use permit but take place only if wolves have been heard the night before. Check the park bulletin boards or visit the Algonquin Provincial Park website.
Held since 1963, Algonquin's Public Wolf Howls have an 80 percent success rate. Offered Thursday nights in August, the event starts at the Outdoor Theatre with a presentation on wolves and wolf howling. Then it's off into the wilderness. The
