Although the yellow-sand, cliff-lined Vlihada Bay is the better-known nude beach on Santorini, this black-sand beach is the best. Found on the northeast shore, Koloubos Beach is a remote stretch of sand under a dramatically arched cliff. It's not nearly as crowded as Vlihada Bay, and many locals head here to lie out and get away from the tourists. You'll need to rent a car or moped, park it along the main coastal road, and walk down the designated pathway to the beach. It's best to get there earlier, since the beach becomes shadowed as the sun sets late in the afternoon, when the wind can also pick up.
