Baia de Golfinhas is home to one of the world's largest populations of resident dolphins. The area is specially protected, and it is impossible to sail into the bay directly. Many people come early in the morning to watch the dolphins from the cliffs overlooking the beach. There are at times more than 600 dolphins in the waters there.
