Cross Trail is aptly named, serving as an interior connector between two main park trails: Lake Superior and Little Carp River trails. If beginning from one of two southern trailheads, expect wet walking upon reaching Memengwa Swamp. Remember wetlands usually mean lots of bugs, therefore, the recommended season for this trail is fall when the colors are radiant and the bugs are few. About half way into this 3-mike hike, the habitat evolves from swampland to forestland emerging out onto an overlook of Big Carp River. The trail makes a quick descent passing Bathtub Falls then ending a short distance north along the western banks of Big Carp River and Lake Superior Trail.
Directions: From Big Carp River, North Trailhead: Trailhead for Cross Trail is located at the mouth of the Big Carp River (western side) along the Lake Superior Trail.
