Gunpowder Falls North and South offers a day hike through a lovely woodland stream valley on a figure 8 loop extending 9.6 miles. There are many trail junctions and several parking locations allowing much shorter excursions, many of which are equally lovely and photogenic.
Directions: From Baltimore, MD, Travel Interstate 83 approximately 15 miles north to the Hereford exit. Travel west of State Route 137 / Mt. Carmel Road about 1 mile. Turn right (north) onto Masemore Road to reach trailhead parking in 2.5 miles.
