This blue-blazed trail is 0.8-mile long and is marked by the growth of a second forest. This was once the site of a beautiful American Chestnut forest until a blight came through the area in the early 1960s and killed the trees.
Directions: From Fredericksburg, VA, Caledon Natural Area is located in King George County between Fairview Beach and Owens. It is 20 miles east of Fredericksburg on Rt. 218. Upon entering Caledon, park by the visitor center. Begin on the south side of Fern Hollow Trail which branches on to Poplar Grove.
