Dives sites in Soufrière Bay line the rim of a submarine volcanic crater that bottoms out at more than 1,500 feet. Here you'll find the string of sea mounts known as Dangleben's Pinnacles. The tops of the pinnacles start at around 30 feet. Divers descend along the vertical formations—overgrown with huge elephant ear and barrel sponges and circled by horse-eye jacks and tuna—to 100 feet or more, and then explore the sandy-floored valleys in between. Watch for sea turtles and resident green morays. Currents and very deep water make this an dive for intermediates and above.
