One of Cocos Island's most famous dive sites, it was discovered by Jacques Cousteau and has been featured in numerous shark documentaries. The seamount rises from the ocean floor and plateaus about 80 feet below the surface. Drop down and hang out over the top of the pinnacle, but don't focus on the rocks below. All the action happens in the blue water, where hammerheads school by the hundreds and are joined by massive whale sharks, sleek blacktips, and feisty packs of whitetips. Schools of bigeye jacks round out the aquatic menagerie. This site should be near the top of any diver's life list.
