Located 20 kilometers south of San Juan del Sur, Refugio de Vida Silvestre La Flor is one of the principal laying/hatching spots of the endangered Olive Ridley and leatherback turtles. The refuge is open year round but is especially popular between July and January, when visitors can watch turtles arrive and hatch.
