Upstairs above Kuhio Avenue, with a fun lanai overlooking the street action below, New Orleans-style Angles is open-air and made up of two small separate bars that are on either side of the entry stairway. A friendly young staff makes you feel at home, and an inside dance floor borders the lanai. There's a live DJ Thursday through Sunday (and a BBQ Sunday afternoon), and Angles is where the drinking crowd migrates after watching the sunset at Hula's. You will find a decent mix of the homo world here as with most Honolulu bars, with a leaning toward the youthful and sometimes straight crowd. At 2 AM when the bar closes, the crowd then migrates across a passageway to adjoining Fusion Waikiki, Honolulu's only bona fide queer nightclub with strippers and drag shows.
