Check out Ehukai Beach Park, known for high winter surf, especially at its two adjoining beaches. Move over to Pipeline, just 100 yards to the left of Ehukai. These waves often form near-perfect tubes, a prized challenge for experienced surfers. Keep moving to Banzai Beach, west of Pipeline; this beach fills with spectators eager to watch surfers catch the perfect wave during competition. Take full advantage of Ehukai's showers, restrooms, and picnic areas for a break from surfing.

BeachExpert Tips & Helpful Hints
  • Swimming is usually good over the sandbar in spring and summer.
  • Watch out for stinging limu from June to September—come in contact with this toxic seaweed and a nasty rash will result.
