Ulupalakua Ranch is a 20,000 acre cattle and sheep ranch on the slopes of Haleakala above Wailea once owned by legendary sea captain James Makee, who bought the ranch and turned it into a lucrative sugar plantation. Today, the ranch is home to Maui's only winery, Tedeschi Vineyards. The ranch grounds offer scenic vistas and the majestic shade of century-old camphor, pine and eucalyptus trees.
