Open year-round, Johnston Canyon features a 3.6-mile trail where you can see the effects of rapid erosion. En route is a whole series of waterfalls and steel walkways secured into the cliff walls. The walking is easy, even in winter, as there's only a moderate rise in elevation. Hike to the trail's terminus, where you'll find the Ink Pots, a set of six multicolored pools formed by springs.
