Las Cucharas Beach first got its windsurfing reputation holding the Windsurf World Cup in the early '90s. It's located on Lanzarote, the second largest and least populated of the seven Canary Islands. This windsurf school and center sits directly on the beach in the funky, nightlife-rich town of Costa Teguise in the northeast part of the island. Las Cucharas is a naturally sheltered bay ideal for beginning windsurfers, and the school has instructors who speak English, German, French-Canadian, Spanish, French, and other languages. The equipment is the latest, and they also have special kids boards too, making it a great outing for the whole family.
