  • Taking you through forest and protected by the walls of the gorge, the Boulder Creek Trail has plenty of shade and is a good option for families who want to keep out of the sun.
  • From the Yurmikmik Lookout, walkers are rewarded with stunning panoramic views over Jawoyn Country.
  • If you are walking in the wet season, beware of the risk of flash flooding.
Kakadu's most famous bush walk is the Barrk Sandstone Bushwalk. This difficult 12-kilometer trek, however, is too challenging for many families. Alternate options abound, with the Yurmikmik Walks in the southern part of the park a good option. This
