The most popular spot in Bruce Peninsula National Park, the Grotto is a sea cave on the Georgian Bay shoreline. You have to hike to get there; it's a 30-minute trek from the Head-of-Trails parking lot. Seemingly bottomless, it cups the turquoise water of Georgian Bay and invites swimming on a hot day. The Grotto is the largest of the park's many karst caves that have been carved out of the cliffside by waves. Inside the cave, you can see great blocks of dolomite that have tumbled from the ceiling above. Adjacent to the Grotto is Indian Head Cove, a stunning beach framed between escarpment walls. Environmentally friendly composting toilets are available near shore.

Located on the coast of Georgian Bay, a 30-minute hike from the Head-of-Trails parking lot, the Grotto is alluring. You have to climb down to it, and then explore or even swim. The water is clear and cold, though many young adventurers don't seem to mind the temperature.
